About
Kim Gentry
Kim
is a classically trained dressage competitor, instructor
and trainer with a strong record of achievement and
has ridden in a variety of disciplines since the age
of five. She was an active rider and competitor throughout
her teenage years and represented her riding club and
Singapore in numerous competitions in the Far East including
finishing second in the Far East Pony Club Championships
in 1979.
Kim’s
diverse riding background includes eventing, show jumping,
amateur flat and steeplechase racing and riding polo
ponies for the King of Malaysia. Kim is a USDF Bronze
and Silver Medalist and a successful FEI trainer and
competitor with her self trained horse, Concerto.
She
currently competes several horses at the FEI levels
including her own horses and horses owned by clients.
Kim has successfully trained students and horses to
FEI and has successfully competed her self trained horse
through Intermediate 1 and is schooling Grand Prix with
him.

Kim
has developed a successful teaching and training business
in the Memphis area after leaving an executive level
marketing career. Kim holds both a Bachelor of Science
degree and an MBA. Kim’s most outstanding skill
is the drive for continuous improvement in her riding
and teaching skills. Kim has trained with Stephan Kiesewetter
in Germany for the past 6 years.

She
trains in Germany several times a year on a variety
of horses to challenge and build her skills, is a USDF
Certified Instructor Training – Fourth Level and
has successfully graduated from the USDF “L”
program for judge training.

Kim’s
goal is to develop correctly trained dressage horses
regardless of their breeding and develop their full
potential given the horse's physical and mental capabilities
and the resources available. As an instructor, she strives
to create independent and successful students in or
out of the show ring.
